CNC Quote Checklist: What to Send for an Accurate RFQ
What to send for an accurate CNC machining RFQ in Vietnam—files, CTQs, inspection expectations, and packaging requirements.
A CNC quote checklist for buyers: what to send (CAD, drawings, revision, CTQs, material, finish, docs, packaging) to get accurate machining quotes in Vietnam quickly.
Start with NDA if needed
If your program is sensitive, start with NDA. A supplier who supports NDA-first workflows is typically better prepared for global programs.
Files: 2D + 3D + revision
- 2D PDF drawing with notes and tolerances
- 3D model (STEP/IGES) for geometry and tool access review
- Revision level and any referenced specs
CTQs and inspection expectations
CTQs drive both manufacturing planning and inspection cost. Specify:
- Critical fits, bores, and alignment features
- Positional tolerances and GD&T intent
- Reporting scope (CTQs vs full layout) and sample size
Material and finish details
- Grade + temper/condition
- Finish standard/type, color, thickness, masking
- Any special cleanliness/handling requirements
Quantity, schedule, and program type
- Prototype vs production
- Target ship date
- Ramp plan if you expect scaling
Quantity affects routing, fixtures, and unit pricing.
Documents and packaging
- CoC, MTR, inspection report, first-article package (as required)
- Labeling rules (PN/rev/lot/serial)
- Kitting BOM and packaging protection requirements
